All I know from my own experience is that the more loss we feel the more grateful we should be for whatever it was we had to lose. It means that we had something worth grieving for. The ones I'm sorry for are the ones that go through life not knowing what grief is.

An example I often use to illustrate the reality of vanity, is this: look at the peacock; it's beautiful if you look at it from the front. But if you look at it from behind, you discover the truth... Whoever gives in to such self-absorbed vanity has huge misery hiding inside them.

Make it a rule and pray to God to help you keep it . . . never, if possible, to lie down at night without being able to say "I have made one human being at least a little wiser, a little happier, or a little better this day."

Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems _x000D_ with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who _x000D_ never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has _x000D_ a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the _x000D_ bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone _x000D_ who's not going anywhere.

The possibilities of creative effort connected with the subconscious mind are stupendous and imponderable. They inspire one with awe.

. . . is to attempt seeing Truth without knowing Falsehood. It is the attempt to see the Light without knowing Darkness. It cannot be.
